All over the world, Christian communities have begun preparing for the upcoming 2011 World Youth Day meeting.
The WYD cross and icon are now in Tui-Vigo, Spain and are just right there waiting for the commencement of the ceremonies which is to take place primarily in Madrid.
The event is set to take center stage once again from the 16th to the 21st of August in 2011, and is to be participated by youth from various countries, ethnicity, and ecumenical communities.
The occasion's theme is inspired by Saint Paul's exhortations about living firm in the faith, planted and built up in Jesus Christ. Preparatorial catechesis are being administered to local parish youths in an invitation to participate and be one in the said occasion.
Registrations to the event officially begun on July 1 and on the onset of the registrations, the WYD Madrid 2011 official site notes that approximately 600,00 youth have already expressed intentions to register for the meeting, and as in the previous world meetings, group registration for an average of 15 to 20 participants is the most common option.
The recently concluded NYD 2010 Pilgrimages was also a good preparation for many of those who will be participating in the world youth meeting.
In our community, a regional youth meeting is set sometime in the middle of this month and we could not be any less excited about it and we all look forward to yet another inspring da with our catechists and fellow youth in the community.
Hopefully, we would be able to raise sufficient funds to attend the event in Madrid!
